United Kingdom

The United Kingdom consists of several different countries, which might not be immediately apparent. On this beautiful island, you’ll find England, Wales, and Scotland. If you take the ferry towards Ireland, you’ll also reach Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK as well. The United Kingdom is incredibly diverse due to its history and the various regions. The country is a wonderful destination to visit with a camper, although the south can be a bit more challenging than the north.

England

In the south, we find England, a country known for its narrow winding roads, bordered by stone walls, and meadows full of sheep. Here, you’ll discover many beautiful villages, each with its own character. Along the south coast, you’ll encounter bustling coastal towns like Brighton, or if you continue westward, you’ll find a Mediterranean climate. Stunning beaches alternate with vibrant coastal towns, making this, combined with the weather, a fantastic location to spend the summer holiday with a camper.

Scotland

A fair bit north, you’ll find Scotland, in our opinion, the gem of the UK. Scotland is highly cherished by nature enthusiasts and those seeking more adventure. Unlike England, it’s very easy to wild camp with a camper here. A camper journey in Scotland offers a mix of wild harbor towns, stunning lakes, and coastlines, but also inland, you’ll encounter towering mountains like Ben Nevis. For the true road trippers among us, in the far north, there’s the NC500, an iconic 500-mile route along the most beautiful coast of this island.

Below, take a look at one of our favorite destinations that we visited with the camper. We explain what there is to do and what makes this destination so enjoyable, as well as where you can park with the camper. Enjoy preparing for your camper road trip in Scotland & England.
